My House

October 8th, 2006 by Julie

The house I’ve been allocated has just been modernised or “PUMAed” as they say in MOD speak.  I have no idea what the initials stand for.  Anyway I have a brand new kitchen and bathroom, new fitted wardrobes and new carpets and curtains throughout.  There is a reasonable sized lounge dining room and two bed rooms, the main one is really spacious but the second one a bit on the small side especially when it doubles up as a study.  Thankfully there is lots of storage space down in the cellar and in the attic.  The house is still scattered with packing boxes as I’m finding it hard to gather the energy or motivation to finish the unpacking because I’m so busy at school.

Life on “Camp”

The camp I’m based on is an army base called Javelin Barracks but was previously an RAF base so has a disused airfield.  It’s a pleasant enough environment, with lots of mature trees and grassy areas between the houses.  Although those of you who have seen my place in Snailbeach will realise that I miss my view.  Here, I look out of my living room across at the NAAFI car park and a Mitsubishi sales centre.  If I wanted to buy a huge 4 wheel drive I would be in just the right location! Today I’m at STDC learning how to set up my own blog with Steve and Dale.  So far I’ve managed to change the appearance of my blog and set up some liinks to other blogs, RSS feeds, and links to my Flickr pictures.
